Tesla Roadster reservations open in Malaysia with RM21k deposit, RM182k or RM988k due in 10 days

Tesla Malaysia has opened reservations for the Roadster, requiring a RM21,000 upfront deposit followed by RM182,000 for the Performance or RM988,000 for the Thrust within 10 days. The Rocket configuration is invite-only and not approved for public road use. The Performance features active aero and a suction system generating up to 2Gs of downforce, while the Thrust adds cold-gas thrusters for a 0-96 km/h time of 0.81 seconds. The Rocket achieves 0-96 km/h in 0.59 seconds with a flight system of 10 perimeter thrusters. These are reservation payments, not final prices, which remain unannounced. Production begins in 2028, and the deposit amounts match those Tesla collected when the Roadster was first unveiled in November 2017, with reports indicating refunds have been difficult to obtain.
