podrobnosti.ua (Ukrainian) —

Democrats have secured control of the US Congress following the midterm elections, with the party winning a majority in the Senate and the House of Representatives. Vote counting is ongoing, but the party has already surpassed the required thresholds in both chambers. The Democratic Party secured at least 53 Senate seats, exceeding the 51 needed for control, while Republicans won 41. In the House, Democrats won 220 seats against 127 for Republicans, with 88 races still undecided. Democrats also won in traditionally Republican states like Texas and Kansas. Ukrainian-born politician Yevgeny Vindman won a House seat with nearly 60% of the vote, while Victoria Spartz, also from Ukraine, lost her re-election bid. President Donald Trump said he is ready to accept the results and work with Democrats.
