Trump Threatens Cuba Again After Iran Remarks

rbc.ua (Ukrainian) —

U.S. President Donald Trump has again threatened Cuba, stating Washington will address the island "on the way back from Iran" and send Secretary of State Marco Rubio to finish the job. Trump said U.S. ships returning from Iran would pass near Cuba, with one stopping about 50 yards offshore, after which Rubio would be dispatched to complete the mission. Rubio separately urged Cubans seeking change to cooperate confidentially with the CIA. The Trump administration has repeatedly sought to alter Cuba's communist government, including through an oil blockade that has caused fuel shortages and blackouts. A month ago, Trump claimed the U.S. and Cuba would reach agreements without military action.
