Trump administration's campaign to intimidate journalists
President Donald Trump has banned CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from White House grounds, prompting a press boycott and the launch of a 24/7 pro-administration video stream critics compare to state-run media. This is his latest escalation against journalists. The administration has weaponized the FCC against ABC over Jimmy Kimmel's jokes, filed multi-billion-dollar lawsuits against outlets like The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and seized materials from reporters. It also arrested journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort, and raided Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson's home. Trump has repeatedly insulted female reporters, including telling Catherine Lucey "Quiet, piggy!" and mocking Kaitlin Collins. The White House now controls press pool access, replacing the WHCA system, and press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to a query with "Your mom did."
