Marseille teen arrested for burning woman's face during protest
A 15-year-old minor was taken into custody in Marseille on Friday evening, suspected of burning a woman's face with a flaming spray during a student protest. The suspect was unknown to police and judicial services. The attack occurred Thursday on Place du 4-Septembre, where video shows the woman intervening as a group tried to damage a bus shelter. A masked individual used a spray and lighter, causing facial burns. The teen faces charges of intentional violence with three aggravating circumstances: use of a weapon, group action, and concealed face. The arrest took place in the Frais-Vallon neighborhood. Police identified the suspect through surveillance footage and field investigations. The victim has filed a complaint, and authorities stated no protest cause justifies such violence.
