Marseille flamethrower attack: 15-year-old arrested after woman sprayed
A 15-year-old minor was arrested and placed in police custody on Friday, October 2, in connection with an attack on a woman using a spray can modified into a makeshift flamethrower during a student protest in Marseille. The suspect was taken into custody on Friday afternoon, hours after the victim filed a complaint that morning. The attack occurred Thursday near Place du 4 Septembre when a hooded individual in black used the device against the woman, who was peacefully opposing vandalism. She was hit in the face but shows no apparent burns or lasting injuries. An investigation has been opened for intentional violence with an incapacity of eight days or less, with aggravating circumstances of using a weapon, concealing one's face, and acting in a group. The minor was previously unknown to police and judicial authorities.
