Iran warns US strike on Qeshm could open 'new battlefield'
Iran's parliament speaker warned Tuesday that a US strategic error would open "a new battlefield," following a reported US strike on an IRGC missile system on Qeshm Island, with Tehran at its highest defensive readiness. The US Air Force reportedly struck an IRGC surface-to-air missile launcher on Qeshm after a missile was fired at a US aircraft in the Strait of Hormuz, though CENTCOM did not confirm the attack. Iran's IRGC separately claimed it downed three US drones in the area. Iranian media reported Tehran updated its target bank to include US support bases in Europe under a "response without geographical limits" strategy, with former officials suggesting Britain, Italy, Portugal and Germany could be drawn into any conflict.
