iPhone Duo launch: Limited stock in stores as pre-orders sell out
Apple began selling the iPhone Duo, its first foldable device, on Friday, but store inventory is extremely limited, with most units going to pre-order customers. In Germany, only a few devices were available for walk-in buyers. Apple confirmed a "limited number" of iPhone Duo units for walk-in customers in several countries, including Germany, the US, and the UK, but warned of no availability in Japan and South Korea. Pre-orders sold out in under four minutes, with new orders now facing delivery delays until late January 2027. Apple reported "extraordinary" demand but released no sales figures, though a report suggests supplier orders were increased by up to 44 percent to 14 million units over twelve months. Early apps require adjustments for the new foldable format, which may be improved by the time January deliveries arrive.
