iPhone Duo Fold Test: Screen Crease Appears After 10,000 Folds

obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

Tech blogger Tim Pan tested the foldable iPhone Duo by folding it 10,000 times, revealing a prominent crease on the display despite Apple's promises of a crease-free screen. The hinge mechanism, however, remained fully functional. The first 500 manual folds already made the crease on the 7.6-inch inner screen noticeably more visible. An automated machine then completed 9,500 cycles at room temperature, plus 1,000 cycles at -20 degrees Celsius, resulting in a clear crease resembling early foldable phones. The hinge showed excellent durability, maintaining smooth operation with a measured resistance of 37.8 kilogram-force. While 10,000 cycles roughly equals 100 days of heavy use, the visible crease from Samsung-made display may disappoint users, though the sturdy hinge suggests good structural longevity.
