iPhone Duo durability test reveals weak foldable screen and hinge issues

3dnews.ru (Russian) —

Tech blogger Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything tested Apple's new foldable iPhone Duo, revealing weaknesses in its flexible screen and hinge mechanism. The internal display scratched at level 2 on the Mohs scale, even with a fingernail, and melted after 10 seconds of flame exposure. Sand particles jammed the titanium hinge, preventing the device from closing, and bending caused permanent green lines and total screen failure. Nelson noted the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 performed better in similar extreme tests, though real-world durability remains to be seen. The internal display replacement would cost $1000.
