iPhone Duo displays crack within hours of use for some buyers

Some owners of Apple's new foldable iPhone Duo are reporting that the internal display cracks along the hinge line within hours of purchase, marring the device's launch day. Reports of the defect are emerging globally, from the US to Australia and China, with photos showing a large crack and a bright white pixel band. One Australian customer received a replacement at an Apple Store after support offered a slow express exchange requiring a full-price card hold. The scale of the issue is unknown, but Apple may collect damaged units to investigate. The crack appeared in one case after less than six hours and under 20 folds, highlighting the risks of first-generation foldable devices.
