Protesters in Schwerin demand constitutional review of AfD before state election

Around 150 people protested in Schwerin on Saturday, demanding constitutional review of the far-right AfD party, eight days before state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The demonstration, organized by PRÜF MV, is part of nationwide protests in 15 state capitals. Participants want parties classified as extremist to be examined by the Federal Constitutional Court, potentially leading to a ban. The initiative gained attention after the AfD won 43.8% in Saxony-Anhalt's election. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the AfD leads polls with 38%, ahead of the SPD's 33%.
