18,000 rally in Berlin for climate, justice, and democracy

At least 18,000 people demonstrated in Berlin for social cohesion, with organizers claiming 32,000 participants. The rally, themed "Time for a change," focused on climate protection, social justice, anti-racism, and defending democracy. The demonstration ended at Rote Rathaus with a rally featuring activist Luisa Neubauer, who warned against democratic despair and called for protecting democratic institutions. DGB's Katja Karger stressed democracy as a social issue. Police reported no incidents. Nearly 100 organizations, including Fridays for Future, "Omas gegen Rechts," Verdi, and ADFC Berlin, backed the event. A closing rave by "A100 wegbassen" was planned to oppose the A100 highway expansion.
