AfD's lead over SPD narrows to 3 points in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

A new poll shows the far-right AfD leading the SPD by only three points in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, one week before the state election. The CDU could achieve its worst-ever result. The Forschungsgruppe Wahlen survey for ZDF puts the AfD at 37 percent and the SPD at 34 percent. The Left Party is third with ten percent, while the CDU stands at seven percent. The Greens and BSW are at five and four percent respectively. Incumbent Minister-President Manuela Schwesig is preferred by 61 percent over AfD challenger Leif-Erik Holm. A separate Infratest dimap poll shows a similar gap. The election takes place next Sunday.
