Iran threatens Gulf oil and AI infrastructure if US and Israel attack again
Iran has threatened to strike oil facilities, undersea cables, datacentres and AI infrastructure across seven Gulf countries if the US and Israel launch renewed attacks, according to security officials, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions. The threat, outlined by Mohsen Rezaei and adviser Mehdi Mohammadi, includes a "zero red lines" strategy targeting economic architecture, with officials warning of a wider and longer conflict than anticipated. This follows US military preparations for a potential joint assault after the 3 November midterm elections. Regional diplomats will meet in Istanbul on Friday to address the crisis, while Iran's IRGC claims to have struck commercial ships near the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude oil has risen to $113.4 a barrel amid fears of a third war that could close the strait and trigger a global recession.
