Blizzard has announced a new open-world shooter set in the StarCraft universe, titled Dominion, with a planned release for spring 2030. The announcement was made at BlizzCon this weekend with a cinematic trailer. The game is a standalone third-person shooter, not a real-time strategy sequel, featuring Terran Marines fighting the Zerg in the Koprulu Sector. The trailer focuses on recruits of the United Earth Directorate, though playable factions and gameplay details remain undisclosed. The project follows 2024 rumors of a StarCraft shooter and marks another attempt after the canceled StarCraft: Ghost. Blizzard vice president Dan Hay, formerly of Far Cry, presented Dominion, and the trailer has already gained over a million views on YouTube.
