Netanyahu shares AI image of nuclear blast over Tel Aviv in election warning
Two days before Israel's election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned citizens of a "second Holocaust" and shared an AI-generated image of a nuclear bomb over Tel Aviv, claiming Iran's nuclear ambitions overshadow all other issues. He asserted that if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter. Netanyahu argued that other government controversies are a "smokescreen" hiding the nuclear threat, despite having claimed last year that Israel's summer 2025 strikes on Iran had "removed the threat of annihilation." He stated Israel has a limited window to act while Donald Trump remains U.S. president, urging voters not to elect a leader who cannot confront Iran. Former general Gadi Eisenkot, Netanyahu's main challenger, accused the prime minister of spreading hysteria, writing on X: "Netanyahu, you are hysterical. As in every campaign, it's the same method of lies and scare tactics. This time you threaten Israeli citizens with mass destruction, after you failed to achieve the war's goals in Iran."
