Eisenkot: Netanyahu Has Learned Nothing From October 7
Former Israeli army chief Gadi Eisenkot accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of learning nothing from the October 7 attack, saying he continues to divide Israelis and treat political opponents as enemies. Eisenkot made the remarks in an i24NEWS interview. Eisenkot cited campaign billboards with the slogan "The right or Palestine" that placed him and bereaved relatives on the "Palestine" side, warning that such "us and them" mentality undermines Israel's existence. He also accused Netanyahu of lying about military operations and called for releasing cabinet voting records. Eisenkot pledged to dismantle Hamas's military and governing capabilities within 18 months if elected, while rejecting regime change as a war aim in Iran. He expressed confidence in becoming prime minister and promised a state commission of inquiry into October 7.
