US commits nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine, excluding Patriot missiles

The Trump administration has committed nearly all $400 million in US military aid to Ukraine approved by Congress in late 2025, but the package excludes Patriot missile systems. $307 million has been contracted as of this week. The remaining $93 million is expected to be obligated before the fiscal year ends on September 30, with deliveries of offensive weapons and equipment, including armored vehicle spare parts, beginning this month. The rest is slated for delivery by October 2029. Patriot missiles were excluded despite ongoing Russian drone and ballistic attacks on Ukrainian cities, as global stockpiles have been depleted by wars in Ukraine and with Iran. Ukraine has repeatedly requested more of these missiles.
