Trump grants Ukraine Patriot missile production licences; UAE proposed for talks

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that US President Donald Trump has made a final decision to grant Ukraine licences to produce Patriot missiles, while Washington proposed the UAE as a venue for trilateral Ukraine-US-Russia talks. Zelenskyy met Trump for general discussions, followed by a separate, lengthy meeting between negotiating teams. Under the plan, Ukraine will brief European partners, the US will consult Russia, and teams will reconvene in about 10 days with results. The Patriot production licences would expand Ukraine's domestic capacity for advanced air-defence systems against Russian attacks. Kyiv awaits a US-proposed date for the technical-level trilateral meeting in the UAE.
