Trump backs diesel export ban as US fuel prices hit record highs

The Agriculture Department also urged White House action on diesel prices. Trump's stance conflicts with his own energy officials, who warn a ban could raise coastal fuel prices, reduce refinery production, and tighten supplies for European allies. Oil industry groups argue it would harm domestic jobs and force allies to turn to China and Russia. Trump said he would discuss Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries with President Zelenskiy.
