Ex-PM captain spread false info to cover Flávio Bolsonaro's escape to US
A former Bahia military police captain, André Porciúncula, spread false information to the press to cover up Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's escape to the United States after the 2022 election defeat. The strategy was allegedly coordinated by Eduardo Bolsonaro to hide his brother's route. Porciúncula falsely told journalists that Flávio had already landed in Miami, while the senator was still in Brazil heading to the Argentine border. Flávio crossed into Argentina using an Italian passport, violating a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports, and then flew to Miami via Ecuador. Porciúncula, a close ally of the Bolsonaro family, gained national prominence during Jair Bolsonaro's government in cultural roles. He has business ties with Eduardo Bolsonaro in the US and recently acquired a property in Texas valued at R$3.8 million, despite declaring only R$164,000 in assets.
