Apple boosts iPhone Duo orders 30% after strong foldable debut demand

nl.investing.com (Dutch) —

Apple has asked suppliers to increase iPhone Duo production and orders by 30% due to strong demand for its first foldable phone, which sold out quickly after Friday's launch, according to Taiwanese Economic Daily. The initial stock was insufficient, with next deliveries not expected until January 22. Apple raised this year's delivery estimates from 6 million to between 8 million and 10 million units, with projections reaching 33 million by 2027. The iPhone Duo is assembled by Foxconn with a core processor from TSMC. It launched globally Friday with sales limited mainly to pre-orders and is priced significantly higher than comparable foldable phones from Samsung and Google.
