Trump's approval rating hits record low of 32% in US

US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 32%, the lowest of his political career, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, as Republicans grow dissatisfied with his handling of the cost of living amid the unpopular war in Iran. The four-day poll, ending Sunday, showed 73% of Republicans approve of Trump's performance, down from 82% a week earlier, when his overall rating was 35%. Only 17% of respondents approved of his handling of living costs, the top issue for voters ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. Trump's rating is lower than any recorded for predecessor Joe Biden. The poll showed Democrats leading Republicans 43% to 35% in congressional voting intentions, the largest Democratic advantage this year. Trump retains 79% Republican support on immigration, but only 24% of Americans back his approach to Iran.
