Trump approval hits record low of 32% as Republicans fault cost-of-living handling, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds

President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 32%, the lowest of his political career, as Republicans sour on his handling of the cost of living amid the unpopular Iran war, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found. Support among Republicans dropped to 73% from 82% a week earlier, with only 17% of all respondents approving of his cost-of-living management. The poll, completed Sunday, also showed Democrats leading Republicans 43% to 35% in midterm voting preferences. Trump returned to office in January 2025 with a 47% approval rating. Just 34% approve of the Iran strikes, which have pushed fuel prices higher, and 82% expect the conflict to last an extended period.
