Trump's Approval Rating Hits Career Low Ahead of Midterms

A new poll shows US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to the lowest point of his political career, with only 32 percent of Americans satisfied with his performance shortly before the midterm elections. The Reuters/Ipsos survey, completed Sunday, shows approval dropped from 35 percent the previous week, including a decline among Republicans from 82 to 73 percent. The drop is attributed to the government's handling of rising living costs amid the unpopular war against Iran. Trump returned to office in January 2025 promising to curb inflation and end wars, with approval at 47 percent. The US and Israel began a war with Iran in February, which has blocked the Strait of Hormuz and raised global fuel prices. Democrats currently lead Republicans 43 to 35 percent among registered voters.
