Trump's approval rating hits career-low 32% as Republicans sour on costs and Iran

US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 32%, the lowest of his political career, as rising costs and the war in Iran fuel growing discontent among many Republicans. The four-day Reuters/Ipsos poll, completed Sunday, shows only 73% of Republicans approve of Trump's performance, down from 82% last week. Just 17% of respondents approve of his handling of the cost of living, the top issue for voters in November's midterm elections. Trump returned to the White House in January 2025 promising to tame inflation and end wars, with an initial approval rating of 47%. For the first time, Republicans disapproving of his cost-of-living handling outnumber those approving, 51% to 44%. The poll surveyed 1,277 adults with a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.
