Trump approval hits career-low 32% as GOP support slips on Iran war and inflation

President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 32%, the lowest of his career, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, as Republican support erodes over his handling of inflation and the Iran war. The poll, completed Sunday, showed GOP approval of Trump dropped to 73% from 82% a week earlier, with only 17% of respondents approving of his cost-of-living management. It also found Democrats leading Republicans 43% to 35% among registered voters for the November 3 midterm elections, the largest Democratic advantage this year. Trump returned to office in January 2025 with a 47% approval rating, but the February Iran war has driven fuel prices higher. Just 34% approve of the strikes, and 82% expect the conflict to last an extended period. The poll surveyed 1,277 US adults with a 3-point margin of error.
