Meta AI Mac App Adds Screen Sharing and Business Tools

Meta has launched a Mac app for its AI assistant, adding window sharing, dictation, and integrations with Facebook, Instagram, advertising, and Google Workspace. The release aims to place Meta AI closer to users' work environments. The version 1.0 beta is a 16MB application for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. Users can press Option-Space to access a compact composer, attach open windows for context, and use dictation across various applications. Meta AI can read screen content but cannot control the computer directly. Meta is also expanding business features, allowing professional account holders to analyze metrics and create documents. The assistant can schedule recurring tasks like weekly reports. However, organizations should review permissions carefully due to privacy concerns, particularly under European regulations.
