Meta AI and ChatGPT launch new Mac integrations

heise.de (German)

Meta has released its first official Mac app for Meta AI in beta, while OpenAI has added an iMessage plugin to its macOS ChatGPT apps that can read and auto-reply to messages. The Meta AI Mac app is a native build using WebKit and SwiftUI, offering a dictation feature and screen access for screenshots, though full app control via keyboard and mouse is not yet available. OpenAI's plugin for ChatGPT Work and Codex can search messages, draft replies, and send them, running locally without creating an index of all messages. OpenAI stated the plugin does not use data for training, but users are advised to review permissions carefully. The feature reportedly uses unofficial methods to access Apple's Messages database, potentially leveraging tools from the OpenClaw project.
