Israel's Legal Adviser Accuses Shin Bet of Delaying Election Probe

shorouknews.com (Arabic) —

Israel's legal adviser accused the Shin Bet security agency of delaying an investigation into alleged foreign interference in elections by withholding materials for two days. Gali Baharav-Miara stated the Shin Bet retains collected evidence while the joint police-prosecution team awaits it, hindering proceedings. She stressed that investigating citizens or elected officials requires justifying evidence and urged all parties to present relevant materials. The statement followed reports that Shin Bet chief David Zini sought to question Arab lawmakers Ahmad Tibi, Mansour Abbas, and Sami Abu Shahadeh. The dispute emerged before final results of the October 27 elections were announced.
