Israel's election body finds no integrity breaches as Likud weighs appeal

jpost.com —

Israel's Central Elections Committee (CEC) announced Wednesday it found no evidence of compromised election integrity after reviewing all submitted inquiries, ahead of presenting official results to President Isaac Herzog. Likud is preparing to abstain from the vote approving the results and may file an appeal. The CEC reviewed 2,452 inquiries from political factions regarding 1,350 ballot boxes and 1,239 from the public on 750 more, with protocols from 9,069 polling stations examined. Likud's Sagi Keisler accused the CEC of failing, citing 1,281 unaddressed complaints and irregularities in the Arab sector. CEC chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg called the review scope "unprecedented," while Likud may appeal by November 18 to the Administrative Affairs Court in Jerusalem. Sohlberg noted even confirmed suspicions wouldn't necessarily compromise overall election integrity.
