Israel certifies election results after fraud review finds no evidence
Israel's Central Elections Committee certified the results of the Knesset election on Wednesday, finding no evidence of fraud that would undermine the vote's integrity after reviewing approximately 75 percent of polling stations. The committee approved results by a vote of 15-14, with Chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg stating allegations remain unproven and do not justify rejecting the outcome. Senior former security officials condemned Shin Bet chief David Zini's conduct, expressing concern his demands to investigate Arab party leaders stem from political considerations. Police released the last United Arab List activist held on suspicion of election bribery without restrictions. The certification comes as neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc nor opposition parties secured the 61 seats needed for a majority, with party leaders set to meet President Isaac Herzog to recommend a prime ministerial candidate.
