Arab Parties Offer Conditional Support to Unseat Netanyahu
Israeli Arab lawmaker Ahmad Tibi said his Joint List bloc is willing to support an anti-Netanyahu government, breaking precedent to challenge Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rule. The move could make Arab parties kingmakers in forming a new coalition. The Joint List won 11 seats and Ra'am won 8 in the 120-member Knesset, giving them crucial influence as Netanyahu's coalition holds 53 seats versus 48 for opponents. Tibi said the bloc would back a government without joining it, avoiding direct participation in wars in Gaza and Lebanon. Opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot demands Arab parties condemn Hamas as a terrorist group, which the Joint List refuses. Netanyahu previously campaigned on the slogan "Bibi or Tibi?" to warn voters against relying on Arab parties.
