Stephen Miller named Trump's new White House chief of staff
Following the Republican Party's heavy defeat in the US midterm elections, President Donald Trump has appointed Stephen Miller, the architect of his hardline immigration policies, as the new White House chief of staff. Miller will replace Susie Wiles, who is moving to a political role, and will assume his duties on Monday, November 9th. Miller, 41, is a prominent figure in the radical wing of the conservative movement and is considered one of Trump's most trusted advisors. He was the driving force behind the administration's crackdown on illegal immigration, including the 2025 ICE operations that led to military deployment in Los Angeles. Known as "Voldemort" by political opponents, Miller has been a staunch advocate for restrictive immigration policies since his youth. He previously served as an architect of the Muslim travel ban during Trump's first term and supported the January 6, 2021 Capitol rioters.
