20min.ch (German) —

Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d'Or, the first Bayern Munich player to claim the award since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981. The 33-year-old England captain beat Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal in the journalists' vote. Kane scored 73 goals in 65 games for Bayern and England last season, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Supercup, plus World Cup bronze. He dedicated the trophy to his wife Katie Goodland and thanked his Bayern teammates and coach Vincent Kompany. The last English winner was Michael Owen in 2001. Alexia Putellas won the women's award, while Yamal was named best young player.
