Fans line Welsh streets to honor Bonnie Tyler at funeral procession
Hundreds of fans lined the streets of Mumbles, Wales, on Saturday to bid farewell to singer Bonnie Tyler, whose coffin was carried through the seaside village draped in a Welsh flag. Tyler died last month in Portugal at age 75. The Grammy-nominated Welsh star, known for the 1983 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart," was hospitalized in May for emergency intestinal surgery. Fans gathered outside her former home and left floral tributes, with locals describing her as deeply connected to her Welsh roots. Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, earned three Grammy nominations and was honored by Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. A private celebration of her life will be held Monday in Swansea before her final journey through her hometown of Skewen.
