An Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has spread to a sixth province, raising fears it could reach South Sudan. The outbreak is on track to become the deadliest in the country's history. Declared on May 15, the outbreak has killed over 2,128 people from 4,566 confirmed cases. A person died in Bas-Uele province after traveling from neighboring Haut-Uele, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. The outbreak is spreading at an unprecedented rate, with seven times more cases than the first three months of the 2014 West Africa epidemic. Mercy Corps warned confirmed cases are now just 35 kilometers from the South Sudan border.
