Bitcoin ETFs See $1B Inflows but Price Stalls Below $84,000
Bitcoin fell 0.3% in 24 hours to trade below $82,500 on Thursday, after failing to break the $84,000 resistance level, with technical indicators suggesting a potential drop toward the key support level of $79,676. Despite nearly $1 billion in US spot ETF inflows this week, including $528 million on Wednesday, the largest daily net intake since September 22, Bitcoin lost momentum. Derivatives positioning improved with long/short ratio at 1.0133, but concentrated sell orders above $84,000 and near $87,000, plus Friday's options expiry with $1.23 billion in notional open interest and a "max pain" price near $82,000, complicated further gains. The $79,676 support has held three times, and if it withstands another test, bulls could target the $84,261 resistance again. A decisive daily close above that level could bring the $87,000 sell wall into focus, while futures open interest rose to $53.66 billion without pushing prices higher.
