European stocks fall on weak tech earnings; Eni gains as oil tops $111
European stock markets fell on Thursday as disappointing earnings from major US tech companies, particularly Tesla, triggered renewed selling in the technology sector. Oil prices also rose, with Brent crude climbing above $111 per barrel. Tesla shares dropped up to 4% in after-hours trading following its quarterly results, which failed to impress investors despite a flashy presentation. Other big tech earnings are due next week, while French bond yields remained near 5%, a level not seen since 2002, amid budget concerns and protests. In Milan, the FTSE MIB declined alongside Paris and Frankfurt, with tech stocks like Technoprobe and STMicroelectronics leading losses. Eni gained on higher oil prices, while the euro traded at $1.125 and the spread between Italian and German bonds widened to 119 points.
