SpaceX posts $4.4 billion profit as revenue nearly triples
SpaceX, Elon Musk's space company, reported a quarterly profit of $4.4 billion after a long period of losses, driven by strong growth in satellite internet and AI data center businesses. Revenue nearly tripled to $14.58 billion, surpassing analyst expectations of $12.7 billion. Starlink revenue rose 69% year-over-year to $5.2 billion, with 13.6 million customers, while AI revenue surged from $813 million to $7.56 billion, yielding an operating profit of $431 million. Rocket launch revenue grew six percent to $1.77 billion. SpaceX went public in June at $135 per share, valuing the company at nearly $1.8 trillion. The stock initially rose to $225 before falling below the IPO price, but gained 1.5% in after-hours trading to around $150.
