SpaceX CEO Musk Sets $1 Trillion Revenue Goal for 2028
Elon Musk said Tuesday that $1 trillion in SpaceX revenue by 2028 is "no longer impossible," a more ambitious target than his previous projection of 2030. The statement followed SpaceX's third-quarter earnings, which showed nearly $15 billion in revenue, up 161% year-over-year. SpaceX's super-intelligence division drove growth, with revenue surging 830% to $7.6 billion, boosted by cloud services agreements, its Cursor acquisition, and enterprise adoption of Grok. JPMorgan forecasts SpaceX revenue at $254 billion for 2027, while the company earned under $19 billion in 2025. Musk's figure would exceed Amazon and Walmart's annual net sales of about $700 billion each. Analysts called the 2028 target "a very tall order" and "defying credibility," noting uncertainty over whether it includes Tesla, as the companies explore a potential merger.
