Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni in Tehran on Monday, state media reported, as part of Islamabad's push for regional peace. The visit, described by Pakistan's military as focusing on a peaceful resolution to the Middle East conflict, includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Munir is expected to hold talks with senior Iranian officials during the trip. The meeting comes amid stalled peace negotiations following the February US-Israel strikes on Iran and an April ceasefire. Pakistan brokered a June memorandum of understanding, but tensions remain over the Strait of Hormuz, with Washington planning new sanctions.
