Milei presses Argentina's Falklands claim at UN, urges talks with Britain

Milei accused the UN of failing to enforce resolutions against unilateral changes and called on Britain to resume negotiations. He also criticized the organization as "useless," while Britain's Prime Minister Andy Burnham vowed to "stand firm" and defend the islanders' right to self-determination. The dispute has escalated recently, with Milei vowing measures to halt an oil project and introducing a security bill toughening sanctions on companies operating near the islands. The Falklands, home to about 3,500 people, have been British territory since 1833, with a 2013 referendum showing 99.8% support for remaining British.
