Japanese Developer Cancels Demo Over AI Imitation Fears

zdnet.co.kr (Korean) —

Japanese developer Alliance Arts canceled the free public demo of its new game "Drunken Goddess Reflux" on October 16, citing concerns that AI could quickly replicate its style before release, as reported by Kotaku. The demo was slated for Steam Next Fest on October 19 but was changed to a limited private event. Alliance Arts cited difficulty managing broadcast restrictions with a small team, fearing AI-made clones of its gameplay and presentation. The game, set in a hellish bar, involves Russian roulette-style drink selection and 3D exploration, with seven endings. The full version launches December 8 on Steam.
