Developer cancels Steam demo of Russian roulette drinking game over AI clone fears
The developer of the anime drinking game Drunken Goddess Reflux has cancelled its planned public Steam demo over fears that AI could be used to create cheap clones of the game. A private play session for a limited number of participants will replace the public release. The game, described as "Russian roulette with shot glasses and a demon who loves you so much he wants to kill you," is scheduled for a December 8, 2026 launch. Developer Alliance Arts apologized for the last-minute change, citing concerns about rapidly advancing AI technology and the risk of malicious actors creating counterfeit versions. The team also cited an inability to properly manage restrictions on posting and streaming gameplay footage. Interested players are encouraged to join the developer's Discord server for access to the private online sessions.
