Former GDF candidates react to Celina Leão's victory

Former candidates for the Federal District government reacted to Governor Celina Leão's (PP) reelection after the second round of the 2026 elections. Kiko Caputo (Novo), Cappelli (PSB), Leandro Grass (PT), and Paula Belmonte (PSDB) all issued statements. Caputo visited the official vice-governor residence where Leão monitored the vote count and posted a photo with her on social media, offering to contribute ideas on health, public transport, full-time schools, and anti-corruption efforts. Belmonte, without naming Leão, said the will expressed at the polls must be respected and reaffirmed her commitment to a fairer, more efficient district. Cappelli congratulated Leão, stating that in democracy, the winner governs and the loser respects the result while moving to the opposition to oversee and demand the people's rights.
