Apple's iPhone 18 Pro Drives 12% Sales Jump in China, Capturing 33% Weekly Market Share
Apple led China's smartphone market for the week of September 14–20, capturing 33% of sales, driven by a strong debut of the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, according to Counterpoint Research. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launched September 18, selling 12% more units in their first three days than the iPhone 17 Pro series did during its launch week. Counterpoint analyst Ivan Lam attributed the boost to the later arrival of the standard iPhone 18 and price hikes of over $200 on competing Chinese flagships. China's weekly smartphone sales have fallen by double digits year over year since July, due to weak demand and rising memory costs, making Apple's performance notable against a softer market backdrop.
