Apple Confirms iPhone Duo Screen Layer Replacement Costs Under $20
Apple confirmed its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, features a replaceable nano-texture cover layer for its inner display, addressing durability concerns with replacement costs starting at USD$19 (AUD$29) for AppleCare+ subscribers. The cover layer minimizes crease visibility and glare, and can be professionally swapped at Apple Stores if worn. This contrasts with rivals like Samsung and Google, which use permanent screen protectors. Australian pre-orders open Friday, 16 October 2026, with the device starting at AUD$3,499. AppleCare+ members pay AUD$149 for inner display damage and AUD$45 for front or back glass repairs, while battery service is complimentary. The iPhone Duo ships from 23 October 2026.
