Apple Charges for iPhone Duo Screen Protector, Samsung Offers Galaxy Z Fold 8 Replacement Free

inet.detik.com (Indonesian) — October 3, 2026 at 03:01 AM UTC

Apple charges iPhone Duo owners a fee starting around Rp 340,000 to replace the screen protector, while Samsung offers the same service free for Galaxy Z Fold 8 users within the first year. Apple's hardware engineering VP Kate Bergeron confirmed the nano-cover layer on the iPhone Duo's main display is removable and replaceable, designed to minimize visible creasing. In the US, AppleCare+ members pay USD 19 for the replacement, though pricing without the plan remains undisclosed. Samsung provides one free screen protector replacement within 12 months of purchase for Galaxy Z Fold 8, with subsequent replacements costing USD 19. The iPhone Duo's matte protector hides creases better but makes its display less bright than the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
